My First Kiss
The year was 1971.
If my math is accurate, that was fifty years ago — but I can still remember it quite clearly.
After a nice dinner and an evening together, I walked Sharon up to her front porch and waited.
I promised myself, this would be the night.
I was nervous.
I hadn’t done this before.
But it was time.
This was …
my very first kiss.
I have a book I really think you should read. It’s very well written, but it’s not a fun read. It is, however, a very valuable book for anyone who wants to see what happens when a society is falling apart.
Defying Hitler by Sebastian Haffner.
Written about 80 years ago, the author describes what it was like to live in Germany in the years leading up to World War II.
As a young boy, he experienced the thrill of World War I … until his country was defeated in that war.
He lived through the period of hyperinflation in the 1920’s and the political battles and societal changes that led to the Nazis coming to power in the 1930’s.
His description of how people and groups separated from one another is very sad.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of similarities between what he experienced and what we are going through in our world today.
You may order Defying Hitler on Amazon. It is very well written.

Have you ever met a worthless man?
A former president shares his thoughts about a worthless man.
“I have come to the conclusion that one useless man is a disgrace, that two become a law firm, and that three or more become a congress.”
John Adams, 2nd President of the United States
1735 - 1826
Before I go I’d like to share a blessing with you from the Old Testament.
“May the Lord bless and protect you; may the Lord’s face radiate with joy because of you; may he be gracious to you, show you his favor, and give you his peace.”
Numbers 6:24-26 (The Living Bible)
Until next time … be the reason someone smiles today!
